I'm probably taking this to far...c'teryx
Sometimes I think it helps to think of climbing brands as types of people, with certain brands being good at certain things, and others being shit at some things. You need a balance, all of one is no good. I’ll give some examples. (also I think this will piss of the most people at once in least amount of words possible)
DMM is like your oldest school friend who lends you money for lunch when you forget yours, a top bloke… but you’ll bail on him if someone cooler comes around.
Black Diamond is the friend who lets you copy their homework, but then you realize it’s full of terrible grammar and you barely scrap a pass…. but you do pass
Arc'teryx is the friend who you never get to see, cause he’s always away on expensive holidays with his parents in the south of France, He’s awesome… but makes you feel poor.
Ocun is the friend who is exactly the same as DMM but about 25-30% cheaper…
Edelrid is a arsehole who once broke your Gameboy and now wont answer your phone calls.
Petzl is the one foreign guy in your school, he gets all the girls with his flashy colors, and you’re secretly super jealous… but you wont ever tell anyone… after all you’ve got DMM
Rab is like Arc'teryx, but he lets you come with him on the fancy holiday to the south of France, it’s awesome but when you get home and have to hang out with your other friends, and you remember you are all poor.
Omega Pacific is that one super accident prone friend who is always in hospital for getting in accidents… but you’re not sure if he’s just clumsy or if his dad is beating the shit out of him on the sly, so you give him a pass.
